We are delighted to publish Christopher Nailer’s new collection, Travels with a Grand Piano. It celebrates the centenary of his father’s birth on 24th May 1919 with poems and illustrations recalling his life as a soldier, as a family man, and as an artist.

Christopher says, “The poems commemorate the man who was, and still is, my greatest role model. He would be 100 years old on May 24th this year. I hope you see the man I knew.”

Cyder Press publishes poetry.

it probes paradoxes; it allows absurdity; against all logic it makes sense.

A poem must say something; it must charm or shock you into recognition.
It must sound powerful when read or sung; it must grab your attention on a page.
It must be correct. It must be true. Marianne Moore said,
“…imaginary gardens with real toads in them.”
